Hoes does the solar panel work?

The iMob 1.8W solar charger converts light energy from the sun into 12 volt DC electricity which is then transported to the rechargeable batteries through the lead wire and connector.

The thin film amorphous technology of iMob's panel allows the absorption of a wider spectrum of natural light, and therefore works in cloudy weather conditions. This technology also enables the solar panel to handle the intense heat of the summer and the power loss due to rising temperatures.

iMob is designed to charge or maintain a 12 volt battery in automobiles, SUV's, light trucks, motorcycles, boats, recreation vehicles, farm equipment, and any vehicle using a 12 volt battery.

Solar Panel Products

ISC125 – 12V, 125mA, 1.8W Our smallest solar maintainer keeps batteries charged, even under poor weather conditions or in artificial light. Perfect for classic cars, motorcycles, snow mobiles, boats and other recreational vehicles that may remain unused for extended periods of time.
ISC175 – 12V, 175mA, 2.2W Specially designed to trickle charge and maintain small to midsized, car, boat or RV batteries as well as farm equipment and other outdoor electrical devices. Many foreign automobiles have enough parasitic battery drain to disable your battery in as little as 7 days if not properly maintained; mount this panel on your dash to insure a full charge.
ISC400 – 12V, 400mA, 5.5W Specially designed to trickle charge and maintain small to midsized car, SUV, truck, boat or RV batteries as well as farm equipment and other outdoor electrical devices, offers over two times the power of the ISC175. You can increase voltage by using our ISCC2 and adding up to 3 additionalISC400 or ISC100 chargers.
ISC1000 – 12V, 1A, 15.0W Our largest panel is designed to provide 15 Watts of power. It maintains batteries and charges. Great for weekend camping and fishing cabins, RV or Marine use. You can increase voltage by using our ISCC2 and adding up to 3 additionalISC400 or ISC100 chargers.
ISCC1 For use with our ISC1000 offers both reverse and overcharge protection.
ISCC2 Used to connect up to (4) ISC400/ISC1000 chargers, giving you more power when you need it for prolonged use and higher battery drain.

How to use the iMob:

• Step 1. - Face the front (black) side of the solar panel to the sun, and make sure there is no shadow cast on the solar panel. It is best to place the long side of the panel at a South to North direction.
• Step 2. - Tilt the iMob at a suitable angle. This should be a right angle and be similar to your local latitude.
• Step 3. - Plug in the LED connector. The light should turn on verifying that the solar panel is generating electricity. Then disconnect connector and proceed with remainder of installation.
• Step 4. - If permanent installation is required, use stainless steel screws for mounting.
• Step 5. - If you need to dissipate heat from the unit, use a heat resistant spacer between panel and the surface.
• Step 6. - This iMob comes with two different connectors.
• Choose between the battery clamp and cigarette lighter plug
• When using the battery clamps, make sure that you connect to the correct battery terminal.
• The black clamp indicates negative (-) and should be clamped on the negative terminal.
• The red clamp should be clamped on the positive (+) terminal.
• For cigarette lighter plug applications, push the plug into the female cigarette lighter socket and make sure that both ends are secure.
